Online and On Time

Day 67
I’m house bound with no car and looking for random acts I can do without the aid of transportation.  Thank heavens for the Internet.

The Holiday Free Store run by Operation Give Back is looking for help.  And I can sign-up online!  No car needed!  (Click www1.mysignup.com/cgi-bin/view.cgi?datafile=epic to register for a two-hour shift.)  There are bunches of open slots to get the store ready before they open on December 16.

Here’s how the store works.  With a donation of $5, a family can "shop" for new toys, clothes, foods, toiletries, jackets, socks, toys and sweaters.  There’s even an area for kids to find something special for mom or dad.

Their primary focus of Operation Give Back is to provide to families living within the Sycamore Community Schools.  They also offer year round tutoring and after-school care. The non-profit founded by husband and wife Lee and Wendetta Langston is right up the street.  What a great way to teach my boys that charity starts at home.
